One teacher and one assistant per class are FREE!

Additional adults are $6.00 for admission and hayride.

Ice Cream is $2.50 extra for everyone—students, parents, teachers, teacher assistants—ice cream requires a separate check to Maple View Ice Cream.

Guaranteed minimum of 10 paying students are required to book a visit.

We only make reservations by phone. If you email, please include a phone number so we can contact you. We do not make reservations by email, sorry.

Spring/summer PROGRAMS CAN BE ADJUSTED TO meet THE NEEDS OF YOUR GROUP.

YOU CAN PARTICIPATE IN ONE CLASS, HAYRIDE ,and ANIMALS FOR $10.00 PER STUDENT AND $6.00 FOR ADULTS.

IF YOU DON’T WANT CLASSES, YOU CAN DO HAYRIDE AND ANIMALS FOR $7.00 PER PERSON—STUDENTS AND ADULTS.

Spring/Summer Classroom descriptions:
Class sessions are 30 minutes long. Classes are age appropriate according to your group’s age level. Classes are visual.

ALL ABOUT THE DAIRY
Our dairy science room offers facts and activities related to Maple View Farm. Students learn about the milking process, bottling process, butter production and ice cream production. Our classroom offers insight and interesting facts about dairy products, as well as behaviors, care and growth of Holsteins. Each student will receive a pencil and a What’s Up With Milk? coloring book.

ALL ABOUT PLANTS
Our plant classroom introduces students to seeds and plants. Lessons teach students about plant anatomy, germination, growing conditions, and environmental effects on plant growth. Fun and interesting facts about plant life cycles, production, and growth trends in North Carolina are taught in this lab.

SOIL SCIENCE/RECYCLING & COMPOSTING
Our classroom offers unique topics related to conservation practices. Learn about various soil types in North Carolina, as students explore soil composition and water filtration.

Our recycling and composting lesson focuses on the set-up of a compost bin. It also stresses practices that may be utilized at school and home to protect our environment.

ALL ABOUT INSECTS
Live specimens bring this room to life! Our room offers insects ranging from beautiful butterflies to Maddie, our Madagascar Hissing Roach. Topics range from the anatomy of insects to how insects are beneficial to agriculture.

Guided Barnyard Tour
BARNYARD ANIMALS: Goat, miniature donkey, miniature horse, sheep, goats, llama, Jersey cow and calf, Holstein calf, ducks, rabbit, and chickens A Maple View staff member will walk you through the barnyard, give information about the animals, let students touch and ask questions. HAND WASHING IS REQUIRED AFTER THE BARNYARD VISIT!

Narrated Hayride
Our hay wagon will hold up to 65 students and a combination of 40 adults and students. The hayride goes around the perimeter of the farm and through the middle. The ride stops at 4 locations. The driver gets off and narrates info about the specific locations.
